WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today the Center for Renewing America (CRA), founded by White House Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought, announced that Edward R. Martin Jr., a veteran public servant and former senior official in the Trump Administration’s Department of Justice, will join the organization as a Distinguished Fellow.

Martin joins CRA following his service in several key roles in the Trump Administration, including Chief of Staff to the OMB Director, Russ Vought, Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia and U.S. Pardon Attorney. He was also tapped by President Trump to lead the Justice Department’s Weaponization Working Group, established to advance President Trump’s efforts to confront the abuses of politicized law enforcement, weaponization against American citizens, and restore accountability at the DOJ.

“Ed Martin is a fighter who has been on the front lines and understands firsthand how Washington’s institutions can be weaponized against the American people,” said CRA Executive Director Wade Miller. “His experience taking on the entrenched federal bureaucracy and fighting to restore accountability at the Justice Department makes him a tremendous addition to CRA.”

As Distinguished Fellow, Martin will focus on government accountability, the rule of law, and combating the weaponization of federal institutions. He will contribute to CRA’s policy work while bringing his experience from inside the Justice Department to the broader effort to restore a government accountable to the people.

“I’m honored to join the Center for Renewing America and continue fighting to restore accountability in Washington,” said Martin. “CRA has never been afraid to take on the fights that matter. I’m excited to build on the work we started in the Administration and continue that fight at CRA. Let’s get to work.”

Ed will also join Chronicles Magazine, a publication of the Center for Renewing America, as a Contributing Editor.

Martin previously served as Chief of Staff to Missouri Governor Matt Blunt and is co-author of the New York Times bestseller The Conservative Case for Trump.
